Our mission is to empower consumers with the knowledge and tools to make informed, sustainable choices. Through education, advocacy, and community engagement, we promote environmental responsibility and a circular economy.
Our vision is for all consumers to use their everyday purchase power to reward companies who demonstrate commitment to sustainable development.
> Sustainable Development Goals
The United Nations created a framework to guide everyone toward sustainability. This framework includes 17 principles, which they call sustainable development goals, or SDGs.
They offer this simple video overview.
> What does it mean for a company to be sustainable?
They must commit to respecting the earth while doing business.
We believe that we hold companies accountable to sustainability when we:
- learn more (education),
- change our buying habits (advocacy), and
- share what we do with others (community engagement).
This works because companies are motivated by profit; they maintain or increase profits by responding to consumer demands. If they don’t, we can choose to reward companies who do. It also works because people are inherently motivated by others—to help themselves and their communities—to prosper together.
